MABLETON, Ga. – There are tons of fun events going on this weekend, in your area. We’ve listed a few of them for you to check out with your family and friends.
Visit O’neal Plaza On May 7 for “Spring Concerts on the Plaza” which is being presented by the Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville and Douglas County. The concert will be held between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public. O’Neal Plaza is located at O’Neal Plaza and Church Street.
Neighbors can buy plants grown by master gardeners and receive growing advice at the Master Gardner Plant Sale in Carrollton. This event is one of the biggest events for the CCMGA and proceeds fund all of the diverse programs run by the association throughout the year. The sale will be held on Saturday, May 7 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Carrollton Agriculture Center.
Come out to the Mayfest 2011 Arts and Crafts Festival arts, crafts, a petting zoo, a NASA exhibit, music, food, laughter and vitamin D in the historic heart of downtown Carrollton. This festival is being presented by Carrollton Main Street. For more information call (770) 832-6901. The festival will be held in Downtown Carrollton.
The Auburn Avenue Research Library will host “One Woman’s Dream: the Unfolding Legacy of Evelyn J. Frazier”. The exhibit will be curated by Pennye G. Hicks, who happens to be the niece of Frazier and Kenneth Green of Spelman College for the entire month of May. “One Woman’s Dream: The Unfolding Legacy of Evelyn J. Frazier” is an interactive exhibit which celebrates the life of this local leading business owner; Frazier Café Society. The exhibit focuses on the business, civic, educational and political contributions of Evelyn J. Frazier. The library is located at 101 Auburn Avenue in Atlanta.
