Upcoming Talent Auditions for 25th annual countywide Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration

Performers seeking to be part of the entertainment at the 25th annual Martin Luther King, Jr., celebration will have the opportunity to audition 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 28, as well as 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 6, and 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 8. Auditions will be held at Jennie T. Anderson Theatre in the Cobb Civic Center, 548 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta. Audition slots are limited. Those selected from audition will take part in the Jan. 17 ceremony, sponsored by the Cobb County NAACP and Cobb County Government. The event is free and open to the public. It will include the annual presentation of the "Living the Dream" award to a member of the community who exemplifies the ideals King stood for.

Kids’ Night on Broadway With Cirque Dreams Holidaze only On Wed, December 1

Atlanta, GA--  For the first time in Atlanta, kids ages 6-18 can see a touring Broadway show for free when accompanied by a full-paying adult, when Kids’ Night on Broadway comes to Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre on Wednesday, December 1st.  

KIDS’ NIGHT ON BROADWAY is The Broadway League’s program where kids ages 6 to 18 can see Broadway shows for free when accompanied by a full-paying adult. The program makes theatre accessible, encourages theatre as a form of family entertainment, and builds larger audiences for the future.

Celebrate Christmas this week at Mable House

Atlanta, GA--  Christmas at the Mable House will include many fun events for the whole family.

The Christmas House Arts and Crafts Show will be Dec. 3-12 at Mable House Arts Center, 5239 Floyd Road, Mableton. The times are Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. and Sunday, 2-6 p.m.  There will be a large variety of items for sale from exhibitors around the Southeast, including fiber art, wood craft, pottery and edibles. There will also be a silent auction where you can bid on a wide variety of items donated by local artists and businesses. Proceeds benefit the preservation of Historic Mable House.

Mableton Residents Speak Up about Extension of 1% SPLOST sales tax

Atlanta, GA--  The Mableton Improvement Coalition is asking that Mableton residents speak up about the extension of the SPLOST tax and let each of the commissioners know how they feel.  The Cobb County Board of Commissioners will decide soon whether to ask the voters for an extension of the 1% SPLOST tax.  The money would continue to be used for maintenance and upgrades to parks, transportation and county facilities.
