Based on the international smash-hit film and featuring music by Elton John, book and lyrics by Lee Hall, choreography by Peter Darling and direction by Stephen Daldry, “Billy Elliot the Musical” has earned critical acclaim on Broadway including 10 Tony Awards.

“Billy Elliot the Musical” is the joyous celebration of one boy’s journey to make his dreams come true. Set in a small town, the story follows Billy as he stumbles out of the boxing ring and into a ballet class, discovering a surprising talent that inspires his family and his whole community and changes his life forever.

Mableton - Auditions are upcoming for the Theatre Project's spring production of Disney's High School Musical. Auditions will be held at Mable House Arts Center 2-5 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 22, and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 24. Those interested must attend both days. Residents interested in being a part of Cobb's 26th anniversary celebration honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., will have the opportunity to audition. The celebration will be held 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 16, at the Cobb Civic Center. The theme will be "Keeping the Dream Alive: Continuing the Journey," and the event is free and open to the public. It will include the annual presentation of the “Living the Dream” award to a community member who demonstrates the ideals King exemplified.
