Cobb awarded grant to revitalize Six Flags area

Cobb awarded grant to revitalize Six Flags area

Cobb County, GA--  (submitted by Cobb Communications)  Cobb County was recently awarded $100,000 from the Atlanta Regional Commission to fund a new Livable Centers Initiative. Cobb will use the funds to continue revitalizing the Six Flags area. With its proximity to many regional assets, such as Interstate 20, the Fulton County Airport, industrial employment centers, Six Flags Over Georgia and the Chattahoochee River, development in the area would be well-supported by an LCI study. The study area contains a mix of older residential and commercial uses that are not integrated.

The purpose of the study is to develop a master plan that includes multiple transportation options with existing and new land uses. It will produce recommendations to improve the bicycle/pedestrian infrastructure, access to public transit and efficient freight movement in the area.
