MABLETON, Ga. -- Cobb County Police are investigating two business robberies in Mableton earlier this week.

The first robbery happened shortly before 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Dollar General on Veterans Memorial Highway.

Cobb County Police Ofc. Mike Bowman said a suspect bought something small at the store, then pulled out a gun when the clerk opened the cash register. The suspect forced the cashier to the ground, grabbed cash from the open register drawer and ran from the store.

Witnesses described the suspect as a black man in his mid to late 20s, about 6 feet tall and with a medium build. He had a tattoo of a cross between his eyebrows and other unidentifiable tattoos on his cheeks near his eyes.

The second robbery happened that same day at around 8:15 p.m. at the CVS on Mableton Parkway.

In that case, a suspect demanded money from a CVS cashier and then ran when he received it, according to Bowman.

The suspect is described as a tall skinny black man wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and a red knit cap with a ball on the top and a black heart pattern. He was armed with a shotgun.

Anyone with information in either of these cases is asked to call Cobb County Police at 770-499-3945.
