WEEKEND EVENTS: Sinbad and Six Flags

WESTERN METRO AREA – There are tons of fun events going on this weekend, in your area. We’ve listed a few of them for you to check out with your family and friends.

Six Flags over Georgia is holding their Christian Music Weekend, starting on Friday, April 22. The park will hold a number of concerts on their main stage. Some of the acts included are Newsboys, Kutless, Revuve, Jeremy Camp, Matthew West, Phil Stacey and many more.

Celebrate Earth Day in Downtown Douglasville by participating in the Downtown Clean Up. This clean up presented by the Downtown Development Authority and is open to all who want to volunteer. For more information contact Stephanie Aylworth at (678) 715-6092.

If you’re looking for some fun this weekend, check out comedian Sinbad at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre on Saturday, April 23. Sinbad is ranked by Comedy Central as “one of the top 100 standup comedians of all time”.

Shop to help Keep Cobb Beautiful

Cobb County, GA--  Residents can help keep Cobb beautiful while shopping for groceries. Harry's Farmer's Market will host a Giving Grill benefiting Keep Cobb Beautiful 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, April 23. After shopping, you can stop by the grill and pick up lunch. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, drinks and other items will be on sale, with prices ranging from 50 cents to $3. All proceeds will support environmental programs in Cobb. Volunteers Needed to Help Clean up Cobb . Registration ends Today 2/25

Cobb County, GA--  (Cobb Communications)  Keep Cobb Beautiful staff are sponsoring a countywide cleanup effort, called "Clean Sweep Cobb," and volunteers are needed. The event will be 8:30 a.m.-noon, Saturday, March 5, and all supplies will be provided.

Volunteer groups are asked to register by Friday, Feb. 25.

Send an email to keepcobbbeautiful@cobbcounty.org and include name, contact information, number of people in the group and what district you would like to clean. KCB staff will assign a project in the requested area. For more information, contact Annette Clark at 770-528-1135
