Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta Celebrate World Thinking Day on Feb. 27 in Mableton

Mableton, GA--  (submitted by Judy Landey)  One day. 300 Girl Scouts in Atlanta. 10 million girls around the world. These are the special ingredients that make World Thinking Day — a Girl Scout-specific holiday — so exciting and meaningful for young women everywhere.

On Sunday February 27, Girl Scout Troop 21340 will host a gathering of metro Atlanta Girl Scouts to celebrate this special event, designed to recognize Girl Scouts of the USA as part of an international movement. World Thinking Day is set aside each year by the Girl Scouts to think and learn about other countries. The learning is done through exhibits created by each participating troop. The exhibits and displays highlight countries and their favorite customs, games, sports, holidays and food. In total, 21 countries will be featured including Greece, India, Mexico, Romania, and Japan, to name a few. The celebration is scheduled for 2:30 pm until 4 pm, Sunday, February 2, 2011 in the gymnasium of Morningside Elementary School at 1053 East Rock Springs Road.
