Pedestrian killed crossing Floyd Road | News

MABLETON, Ga. -- A Mableton man was hit and killed while walking across Floyd Road Sunday morning.

John W. Kelly was hit by a Honda Accord while he tried to cross the road at around 3 a.m., according to Cobb County Police Ofc. Mike Bowman.

The 29 year old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kelly was not in a crosswalk when he was struck, Bowman said.

The accident is still under investigation. Bowman said police do not expect to charge the 30-year-old driver of the Honda.
